Naidu Assures to Complete Pending Projects in Rayalaseema
Anantapur: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday assured to complete pending irrigation projects in Rayalaseema, so that the region could be turned into a horticulture hub.
During his visit of the Nemakal village in Bommanahal mandal in Anantapur district to distribute pensions, the CM announced a new reservoir at Untakal with a storage capacity of 5 TMC feet of water received from Tungabhadra High Level Main Canal. He said that the long pending Jeedipalli-BJ project will be completed and the High Level Main Canal will be modernised to avoid wastage of water.
Responding to MLA Kalava Sreenivasulu at a grama sabha, Chandrababu Naidu acknowledged that sand dunes are spreading in the Kanekal region. He said de-desertification works will be taken up covering 2,000 acres of the sand dunes.
The Chief Minister said Nemakal-D. Hirehal Industrial Cluster will be developed. Drinking water will be supplied to every household through taps in Rayadurg constituency. He announced ₹4 crore for the Gopuram and development of the historic Lord Hanuman Temple at the Nemakal village.
Referring to mafia recycling subsidised rice and selling it to foreign countries, Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that stringent action will be taken against such people.
He came down heavily on the previous YSRC government for selling poor quality liquor at abnormal prices during the past five years. “We have now streamlined the system,” he stated.
Later, the CM met party MLAs, MPs and leaders at the helipad and received representations from them.
Finance minister Payyavula Kesav, BC welfare minister Savitha, MP Ambika Lakshmi Narayana, whip Kalava Sreenivasulu, and MLAs M.S. Raju and D. Venkata Prasad were among those present.
Chandrababu Naidu appreciated Anantapur collector Dr. B. Vinod Kumar for his initiatives in taking up development and welfare schemes.
