Royal Enfield Rides Into AP With its ₹2,200-Crore Manufacturing Plant
Lokesh said Royal Enfield represents heritage, craftsmanship and enduring quality

VIJAYAWADA: Iconic motorcycle maker Royal Enfield has chosen Andhra Pradesh for establishing its manufacturing plant and vendor hub in Satyavedu of Tirupati district with a total investment of ₹2,200 crore. Taking the lead in welcoming the project, human resources development minister N. Lokesh described the investment as a strong endorsement of Andhra Pradesh’s growing reputation as a preferred manufacturing destination in the country.
The project, approved by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is Royal Enfield’s first major expansion outside Tamil Nadu, where the company had been founded in 1901. The company will set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in two phases at Satyavedu, close to the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border. The project is expected to add nearly nine lakh units to Royal Enfield’s production capacity, strengthening India’s position as a global premium motorcycle manufacturing hub.
The state government has allotted Royal Enfield 267 acres across Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages in Satyavedu mandal. Apart from the main manufacturing unit, the project will also feature a dedicated vendor park in the first phase, aimed at attracting ancillary industries and creating a robust supplier ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. Officials said the initiative would help transform the region into a world-class automobile and advanced manufacturing cluster. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2029 and the second by 2032. The investment is projected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Lokesh said Royal Enfield represents heritage, craftsmanship and enduring quality. The investment reflects the state government’s focus on industrial infrastructure development and speed of doing business. He said the vendor ecosystem and ancillary industries would significantly contribute to the government’s vision of building a globally competitive automobile and advanced manufacturing hub.
Officials emphasised that the Royal Enfield investment is expected to accelerate industrial growth in south Andhra Pradesh in sectors such as mobility, electronics, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.
