Round Table Discusses Law and Order in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA: A round table meeting on the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh was held in Vijayawada on Saturday, with participants discussing issues relating to public safety, rule of law and protection of democratic values.
Public representatives, lawyers, social activists, intellectuals and members of various organisations attended the meeting. They emphasised the need for impartial enforcement of the law, protection of constitutional rights and measures to strengthen the law and order system.
Participants said ensuring a fear-free environment and upholding the rule of law were among the primary responsibilities of any government. They also expressed hope that peace, harmony and democratic values would be strengthened across the State.
YSRC state publicity president Kakumanu Rajasekhar and state working president P. Hari Prasad Reddy attended the programme.
Later, Hari Prasad Reddy said he had briefed YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the deliberations and added that similar programmes would be organised across the State in association with intellectual groups.
