Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Women and Child Development and Tribal Welfare, Gummadi Sandhya Rani, on Monday stated that the Recognition of Forest Rights (RoFR) pattas will be issued to tribal beneficiaries soon.
Speaking to officials during a review meeting, she directed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries and submit a report on the latest list. The Minister reviewed various departmental activities with District Collectors and ITDA Project Officers at the Secretariat. She instructed all departments to work in coordination for the effective implementation of government welfare schemes and tribal development programs.
As part of improving facilities in 626 tribal welfare schools across the state, the AP government is slated to hire 2,161 cleaning staff, cooks, and ayahs on an outsourced basis, and an amount of Rs 46 crore has been sanctioned for this, the Minister informed.
She added that Rs 21.80 crore has been allocated for the construction of school buildings and the development of basic infrastructure in the schools. Further, another Rs 50 crore has been earmarked for purchasing essential items for students, including trunk boxes, bed sheets, mattresses, and water testing kits.
The Minister stressed that hygiene and food management in residential schools must be further improved to ensure better living conditions for students.
