Road Safety a Shared Responsibility: Anam

The minister flagged off a road safety rally at the Atmakur Municipal Office as part of National Road Safety Month celebrations and unveiled awareness posters on traffic discipline and safe driving.

Nellore: Endowments minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy on Monday said prevention of road accidents should be a collective responsibility and urged citizens to strictly follow traffic rules to protect lives.

The minister flagged off a road safety rally at the Atmakur Municipal Office as part of National Road Safety Month celebrations and unveiled awareness posters on traffic discipline and safe driving.

Addressing the gathering, he said traffic rules are meant to protect road users and appealed to citizens to make road safety a personal commitment. He particularly urged students to adopt traffic discipline from a young age, stating that early awareness would help reduce accidents in the long run.

Emphasising public awareness, he said wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding overspeeding and obeying traffic signals could significantly reduce fatal accidents.

Students, police and transport department officials and public representatives participated in the programme. RDO Pavani, Municipal Commissioner Ganga Prasad, Transport Department Officer Ramulu and police officials were present.
