RGUKT’s List of Admissions Highlights Growing Rural Talent, Says Lokesh

Vijayawada: Minister for education, IT and electronics N. Lokesh on Saturday announced the provisional selection list for admissions into the six-year Integrated B. Tech programme of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT)-AP, with its campuses at Nuzvid, R.K. Valley, Ongole and Srikakulam. Releasing the results through his social media account with X, Lokesh disclosed: “Out of 44,104 applications received, 4,040 students have been provisionally selected for admission. Proud to note that 96.7 per cent of the selected candidates are from government schools.” Results for special categories of students will be announced separately. According to RGUKT authorities, the university received 25,406 from government school students, 17,798 from private school students and 900 from candidates from other states. The provisional selection list has been prepared for 4,040 seats, comprising 3,640 general category seats and 400 seats under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota. Of the selected candidates, 3,907 are from government schools and 133 from private schools. Girls account for 2,855 admissions, representing 70.66 per cent of the intake, while 1,185 boys have been selected, accounting for 29.33 per cent of the seats.

District-wise, Srikakulam recorded the highest number of selections with 366 candidates, followed by Vizianagaram 317, SPSR Nellore 292, Prakasam 266, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district 234 selections, and Kakinada 199. Counselling will be conducted from June 19 to June 24. Admissions for the Nuzvid and R.K. Valley campuses will be held on June 19 and June 20, while counselling for the Ongole campus will take place on June 22 and June 23 at R.K. Valley. Admissions for the Srikakulam campus will be conducted on June 23 and June 24 at Etcherla. Classes for the new academic year will commence on July 1.
RGUKT said all admissions are provisional and subject to verification of original certificates. Selection letters have been made available on the university website and a dedicated WhatsApp helpdesk has been established to assist candidates. Minister Lokesh, along with RGUKT chancellor Prof. K. Madhu Murthy and vice-chancellor Prof. M.L.N. Rao, congratulated the selected students and wished them success in their academic pursuits.
