Chandramouli was shot dead in Pahalgam while fleeing from terrorists; wife and others escaped unhurt

A retired bank employee from Visakhapatnam was killed in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Chandramouli, was initially reported missing following the incident. His body was later found by fellow tourists.
According to official reports, Chandramouli sustained fatal gunshot wounds while attempting to flee from the attackers. Eyewitnesses said he pleaded for mercy, but the terrorists chased and shot him.
Chandramouli had been on a vacation in Kashmir with his wife, J. Naga Mani, and four others when the attack occurred. While the rest of the group, including his wife, managed to escape unharmed, Chandramouli became separated during the chaos.
Family members rushed to Pahalgam from Visakhapatnam upon receiving the news. Authorities have arranged for his mortal remains to be flown back to Visakhapatnam today on an Air India flight scheduled to depart at 12 noon.
Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, currently touring Tirupati district, expressed deep shock over the killing. After speaking to the bereaved family by phone, he stated: "Chandramouli’s death in the terror attack is tragic. I strongly condemn this heinous act of cowardice."
