Tension prevailed at the Renigunta station when a passenger climbed on to a train, in a bid to catch hold of the high tension power wires atop it. However, the alert officials switched off the power supply and averted a major mishap.
Reportedly, the passenger alighted the Thiruvananthapuram-New Delhi Kerala Express and got on to the same train screaming.
When he tried to catch the high tension wires, the officials switched off the power supply. Then the staff of the RPF, GRP and fire departments together brought down the man safely, after struggling for nearly an hour.
After being brought down, the miscreant began shouting that if he was arrested, he should be produced in the court within 48 hours and that only a three-star officer should come to arrest him.
With the power supply being disrupted, movement of a few trains was stalled.
Police is investigating the case. They suspect him to be mentally deranged or intoxicated. The incident led to anxious moments both for the passengers and staff in the railway station.
