Razole MLA Blames ONGC in Front of Its Officials
The MLA suggested that the ONGC establish a multi-speciality hospital at Lakkavaram village, which is at the centre of the corporation’s oil and gas exploration activities.

Kakinada: Razole MLA Deva Vara Prasad expressed anger at officials of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), saying they have totally failed in taking precautionary measures before beginning drilling the Mori-5 Well.
He made the caustic remarks at a press conference on Wednesday, where two top officials of ONFC, executive directors Santanu Das and Vikram Saxena, had been present, along with Konaseema district collector R. Mahesh Kumar.
The MLA maintained that due to no safety measures in place, people of Irusumanda, Gubbalavaripalem, Lakkavaram and Chintapalli left everything and ran immediately after the blowout.
In the process, elderly people, including a 102-year-old man and pregnant women, fractured their legs.
Vara Prasad said at least now, ONGC officials can start taking precautionary measures at their well-sites in the Konaseema. He maintained that the corporation should undertake a massive campaign and inform people about the safety measures they have put in place while carrying out their oil and gas exploration activities.
The MLA suggested that the ONGC establish a multi-speciality hospital at Lakkavaram village, which is at the centre of the corporation’s oil and gas exploration activities. He said the hospital could be established over 2.5 acres of land at a cost of ₹25 crore.
