Rats Bite 10 Students at KSN Govt College Hostel, Parents and Students Demand Action
With degree exams approaching, the students and parents questioned how anyone could focus on studies in such conditions.

Anantapur: At least ten students at KSN Government Women’s Degree College in Anantapur were bitten by rats in their hostel rooms, raising concerns about poor facilities at the campus. The hostel is located adjacent to the Super Speciality Hospital.
The incident came to light after students informed their parents, who later contacted the media. The girls, who were bitten while sleeping, were treated at the Anantapur Government General Hospital and vaccinated. However, authorities reportedly tried to cover up the issue, advising students not to disclose the rat attacks.
The hostel, which was shifted to a new building four years ago, has faced complaints about inadequate sanitation and waste stagnation around the premises, attracting rats. Hostel warden Sowgandhika claimed that necessary measures were taken to keep the premises clean, but snacks and food in the rooms were still attracting rats.
With degree exams approaching, the students and parents questioned how anyone could focus on studies in such conditions.
