The minister conducted reviews of civil supplies, DWMA, Jal Jeevan Mission, health, mines, and education departments. He sought explanations for delays in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan programs and pending MNREGA bill payments

Visakhapatnam: Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu on Saturday underscored the government’s commitment to agriculture and industrial development in Srikakulam district, stating that Central funds are being effectively utilised to accelerate growth. Chairing the district development coordination and monitoring committee (DISHA) meeting at the Zilla Parishad hall, he reviewed progress across agriculture, road safety, civil supplies, health, mining, education, and municipal administration.

Addressing transport concerns, the minister directed officials to work towards making Srikakulam an accident-free district. He stressed the need for awareness campaigns, widening the city’s main entrance, and constructing a flyover at the Nav Bharat Junction. He also called for identifying accident-prone black spots along national highways and establishing trauma care centres in Srikakulam, Tekkali, and Ichchapuram.

Rammohan Naidu urged officials to educate farmers on crop rotation and expand mechanisation to boost productivity. He reviewed the ‘Polam Badi’ (farm school) initiative and instructed that one mandal in each constituency be developed as a model, with participation from 200 farmers. He emphasised maize cultivation during the Rabi season and promotion of the Kisan Drone scheme, which offers subsidies to farmers. Drain maintenance during paddy harvesting was also highlighted.

The minister conducted reviews of civil supplies, DWMA, Jal Jeevan Mission, health, mines, and education departments. He sought explanations for delays in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan programs and pending MNREGA bill payments. Stressing the importance of the Jal Jeevan Mission, he directed officials to ensure that tap water connections are available in every household. He also flagged shortages of anaesthesiologists and urged efforts to make Srikakulam anaemia-free while strengthening TB prevention programs.

Later, speaking to the media, Rammohan Naidu expressed confidence that Srikakulam would achieve rapid development through Central support. He praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for reviving the state’s financial health and highlighted the government’s focus on North Andhra. Highlighting projects such as Bhogapuram airport, Moolapeta port, and new national highways, he said these initiatives would spark an employment revolution and transform Srikakulam into a growth hub.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Gond Shankar and Baggu Ramanamurthy, collector Swapnil Dinakar, SP Maheshwara Reddy, district officials, and public representatives.
