Rally With 1.1-Km Tricolour Held In Kurnool

The minister urged people to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters, hoist the flag at every house and work together beyond caste, religion and race for the country’s progress.

Kurnool: Collector P. Ranjit Basha called on the people of Kurnool district to hoist the national flag atop their houses to show patriotism as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga programme. On Tuesday, he flagged off a rally featuring a 1.1-km-long tricolour carried by 2,800 students of St. Joseph’s College, which stretched from Sunkesula Road to Kondareddy Buruju. The event, supported by Global Township managing director Khaja Malik, aimed to instill national pride and unity among the community. The collector said this flag, which is longer than the one previously displayed in Gujarat, would be recorded in the World Records India.

In Nandyal, law and minority welfare minister NMD Farooq and collector G. Rajakumari inaugurated a massive rally from Tekke Market Yard to Gandhi Chowk with a 100-m national flag. The minister urged people to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters, hoist the flag at every house and work together beyond caste, religion and race for the country’s progress.

The collector noted that the Har Ghar Tiranga celebrations are part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and commended students and officials for their enthusiastic participation. The rally concluded with tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Chowk.
