Rajanagaram MLA Seeks AMRO facility at Rajamahendravaram Airport

During a visit to New Delhi, the MLA submitted a representation to Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari seeking her support for the proposals. He also requested the introduction of new flight services from Rajamahendravaram to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Shirdi, Varanasi and Kolkata in view of the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027.

He sought the construction of a 30-km Outer Ring Road from Burugupudi to Vemagiri and widening of the Rajanagaram–Burugupudi Road to ease traffic congestion during the Pushkaralu.

The MLA also urged the Centre to construct flyovers and ramps at Narendrapuram Junction on NH-16 to eliminate an accident-prone stretch and provide a dedicated down-ramp at Gaman Junction. He sought the release of Rs.10.60 crore from the Airports Authority of India’s CSR funds for road repairs in Madhurapudi and Burugupudi villages and restoration of the natural water flow system affected by the airport expansion.

Bala Ramakrishna also requested the Centre to address the steep increase in airfares on the Rajamahendravaram-Hyderabad route by allocating slots to additional budget airlines.

He sought widening of the road along the Polavaram Left Canal corridor from Murai–Purushotham Road and construction of a special ramp at Gaman Junction for the 2.55-km Diwancheruvu-Gaman flyover on NH-16. He also proposed solar lighting along the 17-km stretch between Rajanagaram and Rajamahendravaram through the Diwancheruvu forest area and development of an alternative National Highway route via Jaggampeta, Gokavaram, Korukonda, Venkatanagaram, Madhurapudi and Torredu.

The MLA further sought `4 crore for conservation of migratory birds visiting Punyakshetram village in Rajanagaram mandal and the establishment of a zoo in the Rajanagaram forest area to promote tourism in Coastal Andhra.

He also requested `36 crore under the PRASAD scheme for the development of the 800-year-old Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Korukonda and `20.56 crore under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme for the Buddhist site at Pandavulametta near Kapavaram.

Among other proposals, he sought infrastructure development at Kanupuru Konda, known as 'Chinna Srisailam', and promotion of eco-adventure tourism at Ramadurgam and Yenugula Kondalu near Purushothapatnam through ropeway and adventure sports facilities.

According to the MLA, Purandeswari responded positively to the representation and assured him that she would take steps to pursue the proposals with the Centre.
