Rains Lash AP For Third Day, IMD Forecasts More Downpour
A fresh low-pressure area is expected to form over the north Bay of Bengal around Thursday
Visakhapatnam: Moderate to heavy rainfall continued to lash parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and the Rayalaseema region for the third consecutive day on Tuesday. The weather department has forecast that isolated places across the state are likely to receive heavy rainfall over the next three to four days.
According to an IMD report, Macherla in Palnadu district recorded 8 cm of rainfall in the past 24 hours. This was followed by 7 cm each in Guntur and Narsipatnam (Anakapalle); 6 cm each in Rajahmundry (East Godavari) and Sattenapalle (Palnadu); 5 cm each in Bapatla, Karamchedu (Bapatla), Prathipadu (Kakinada), and Tanuku (West Godavari); and 4 cm each in Jangamaheswarapuram (Palnadu), Palakoderu (West Godavari), Tiruvuru and Nandigama (NTR district), and Srisailam (Nandyal).
A fresh low-pressure area is expected to form over the north Bay of Bengal around Thursday. This system is likely to bring heavy rainfall to parts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and south coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) for the next three days.
