The downpour inconvenienced candidates, counting agents, and police personnel: Reports

KAKINADA: Heavy rains triggered by Cyclone Murasu have disrupted normal life across Kakinada, Eluru, Konaseema, and East Godavari and West Godavari districts, inundating low-lying areas and leaving several roads under knee-deep water.
The downpour inconvenienced candidates, counting agents, and police personnel, who struggled to reach municipal election vote-counting centres early on Tuesday.
Rain that started on Monday continued into Tuesday. In certain areas, rainwater, mixed with drainage water, has entered shops, commercial establishments, houses, and schools, causing difficulties.
In Kakinada, several localities, including Temple Street, Cinema Street, Main Road, RTC Complex, 100 Buildings, Sambamurthy Nagar, Dairy Farm, Jayendranagar, Mootha Nagar, Sashikanth Nagar, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Turangi, and parts of Indrapalem have suffered waterlogging.
Traffic movement came to a near standstill as several roads got submerged. Motorists faced difficulties after rainwater entered vehicle engines. Several cars and other vehicles could be seen stranded on flooded roads.
Several areas in Rajamahendravaram, including Danavaipeta, Innispeta, Seethampeta, Kolamuru, Kontamuru, Katheru, Mallayyapeta, Aryapuram, and Thummala, have got submerged. Dowleswaram, Kovvuru, Nidadavole, and other areas have reported waterlogging.
