Rain Revives Waterfalls On Tirumala, Temperature Drops
Sources said the available water in Tirumala’s reservoirs can meet requirements of pilgrims and residents for the next 100 days.

Rain brought waterfalls to life across the Seshachalam hills in Tirumala on Wednesday, with streams flowing down rocky slopes, fog covering the ghat roads, and temperature dropping in the hill town.
Water cascaded down the slopes at Malavadigundam, Kapilatheertham, and other locations following the rainfall, which continued from Tuesday midnight until Wednesday afternoon. Pilgrims travelling in private vehicles stopped near Malavadigundam along the first ghat road to watch the waterfalls, photograph the streams, and capture views of the fog covered hills.
Fog and mist covered stretches of ghat roads, trekking paths, and several areas of Tirumala, reducing visibility. Several check dams along the down ghat road started overflowing after the rain.
TTD officials have advised motorists to drive carefully, citing poor visibility and the risk of landslides. Engineering and vigilance teams have been deployed along the routes to monitor conditions and attend to any problems.
Rainfall brought water into reservoirs at Tirumala, including Akasaganga, Gogarbham, Papavinasanam, Kumaradhara, and Pasupudhara. According to sources, the available water in Tirumala’s reservoirs is expected to meet the requirements of pilgrims and residents for the next 100 days.
In the interim, pilgrims visiting the Sri Venkateswara Temple faced inconvenience as the rain left queue lines and open areas wet. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) moved pilgrims into covered sheds and compartments and provided drinking water, milk, and Annaprasadam.
Several pilgrims coming out of the main temple after darshan got drenched while walking through the rain-soaked premises. Wet conditions and drop in temperature caused discomfort, particularly to elderly pilgrims and children.
