Rain Disrupts Normal Life In Tirupati; More Rains Predicted
Tirupati recorded 49.8mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 8.30am on Sunday, according to an IMD report.

Tirupati: Rain continued in Tirupati and several parts of the district on Sunday under the influence of a depression over the east central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal.
More rains are predicted for Monday and Tuesday.
Tirupati recorded 49.8mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 8.30am on Sunday, according to an IMD report.
Intermittent showers disrupted normal life in the city, causing water-logging in some areas.
Surface winds and falling temperatures added to the discomfort, prompting many residents, particularly senior citizens, to stay indoors.
Tirumala also experienced rainy conditions, causing inconvenience to devotees visiting the Sri Venkateswara temple.
Rain, coupled with mist and cooler conditions on the hills, affected movement around the temple’s surroundings and the mada streets.
Pilgrims who had completed their darshan faced difficulties in reaching their accommodations, bus stands and other destinations as they had to navigate through the downpour.
Many were seen scurrying through the rain in search of shelter.
TTD advised motorists travelling on the ghat roads to drive slowly and exercise caution, particularly in stretches where rain and fog reduce visibility.
Devotees have also been advised to take precautions while moving around open areas during rainy weather.
IMD said the weather system over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by Monday and move towards the AP coast.
The agency forecast further spells of rain and thunderstorms in Tirupati and other parts of Rayalaseema over the next few days, with rainfall activity likely to increase on Tuesday and Wednesday.
