Puttaparthi Satya Sai Hospital Starts Robotic Surgery Wing
On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS) at Puttaparthi has achieved yet another milestone in healthcare with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art robotic surgery system.

ANANTAPUR: On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS) at Puttaparthi has achieved yet another milestone in healthcare with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art robotic surgery system.
Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust (SSSCT) managing trustee R.J. Rathnakar inaugurated the advanced system, valued at ₹8 crore, in the presence of trustees K. Chakravarthi and I.S.N. Prasad, SSSIHMS director Dr Gurumurthy, joint director Dr. Anil Kumar Mulpur and other senior functionaries of the hospital.
The SSi Mantra Robotic System, indigenously developed by SS Innovations, is capable of performing a wide range of complex surgical procedures across specialities, including cardio-thoracic and Urology, sources said.
Robotic surgery, being minimally invasive, offers patients significant advantages, such as reduced blood loss, lower risk of infection, less pain, and quicker recovery. For surgeons, it extends unmatched precision, enhanced access to intricate areas of the body, and greater ease during prolonged procedures.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSSCT managing trustee emphasised that introduction of the latest cutting-edge technology is reaffirmation of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust’s commitment to Baba’s mission of providing the highest standards of compassionate, value-based healthcare to all totally free of cost.
