Pulivendula School Bus Loses Wheels; Major Tragedy Averted
The incident has once again exposed the alleged negligence of private school managements and lapses by transport authorities in enforcing vehicle fitness norms.

Kadapa:A major accident was narrowly averted after a private school bus lost its rear wheels while in motion near the Pulivendula Market Yard in Kadapa district on Monday.
The incident has once again exposed the alleged negligence of private school managements and lapses by transport authorities in enforcing vehicle fitness norms.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus belonging to Vikas High School was carrying more than 30 students when its rear wheels suddenly detached and rolled onto the road, causing the vehicle to tilt dangerously to one side.
Alerted by motorists travelling behind the bus, the driver managed to keep the vehicle under control and bring it to a halt, preventing what could have turned into a major tragedy. Fortunately, none of the students was injured, much to the relief of their parents and local residents.
Parents alleged that such incidents result from poor vehicle maintenance and the operation of unfit buses by private educational institutions. They also criticised the practice of outsourcing vehicle fitness certification to private agencies, claiming it compromises safety standards.
Concerns continue to mount over the safety of schoolchildren, as issues such as inadequate fitness inspections and overspeeding by school buses remain largely unaddressed. Parents say they remain anxious until their children return home safely each day.
