Public Representatives Must Be Accountable, Says Chandrababu Naidu

CM cites welfare delivery, investment revival and governance reforms; accuses opposition of obstructing development.

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that public representatives must remain accountable to citizens, asserting that the NDA government views the 2024 electoral mandate as a responsibility to rebuild the state.

Addressing the “Two Years of Trust, Development and Welfare” public meeting at Daminedu in Chandragiri constituency, the Chief Minister said the government has worked to restore governance, rebuild institutions and regain public confidence over the past two years.

He credited the coalition government, along with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, for implementing welfare and development programmes across sectors. Naidu also acknowledged the support of the Union Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Centre-State cooperation has strengthened Andhra Pradesh’s progress.

Highlighting key initiatives, he said welfare schemes such as NTR Bharosa pensions, Talliki Vandanam for education, Shakti free bus travel for women, and Annadata Sukhibhava for farmers are being implemented effectively. He added that recruitment drives, infrastructure development and investment promotion have helped revive the state’s economy.

The Chief Minister said the government has restored Andhra Pradesh’s credibility among investors, with MSME parks, industrial projects and major companies showing renewed interest in the state.

Criticising the previous administration, Naidu alleged that governance had weakened, debts had mounted and development had stalled. He also accused opposition parties of attempting to create obstacles and spread misinformation while the government pursues development.

Reiterating the NDA’s commitment to transparency and good governance, he said the administration is focused on achieving the vision of “Swarna Andhra 2047” and ensuring inclusive growth for all sections of society.

Several beneficiaries shared their experiences at the event, highlighting the impact of government schemes on livelihoods, education and welfare.

Ministers, MLAs, public representatives and a large number of people attended the programme.
