Proposal to Set Up Film Studio Near Nandigama
MAA-AP founder and film director D. Dileep Raja and his team met Nandigama MLA T. Sowmya on Tuesday to discuss identifying suitable government land near Nandigama for the proposed studio.

Vijayawada:The Movie Artists Association–Andhra Pradesh (MAA-AP) has proposed setting up a film studio near Nandigama, citing its location between Hyderabad and Vijayawada and connectivity through the national highway.
MAA-AP founder and film director D. Dileep Raja and his team met Nandigama MLA T. Sowmya on Tuesday to discuss identifying suitable government land near Nandigama for the proposed studio.
Raja said the organisation, established in Tenali in 2018 with the objective of developing the film industry in Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state, had submitted proposals to the government for construction of film studios in the state.
He said the location would be convenient for production houses from Hyderabad and Vijayawada to shoot and produce films in Andhra Pradesh. The availability of production facilities at one location would make film production more convenient and help attract production houses to the state, he said.
“MA-AP is ready to take up the construction of a studio if the government allots suitable land,” Raja said.
He said the proposal had already been discussed with cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh. The proposed studio would have facilities to construct various sets required for film production, he said.
An art director has prepared a roadmap for setting up permanent or semi-permanent sets, including a rich house, traditional manduva house, police station, court and hospital.
