Vijayawada: Police have intensified their investigation into the missing case of Gade Sai Krishna, focusing on CCTV footage from Krishnalanka Swargapuri in Vijayawada.

As part of the probe, ACP Daiva Prasad sought details from Swargapuri cremation ground staff regarding the procedures followed while cremating unidentified bodies. Meanwhile, West Godavari Superintendent of Police Narasimha Kishore, who has been appointed as the Investigation Officer (IO), arrived in Vijayawada and formally took charge of the case. He initially met the Director General of Police at the camp office and later held discussions with Vijayawada Police Commissioner Rajasekhara Babu to gather case-related details.

The forensic and cyber analysis teams have seized hard disks, DVR, and NVR devices containing CCTV footage from inside and outside the Krishnalanka police station. These devices have been sent to a forensic laboratory for detailed examination.

During the investigation, a team at Krishnalanka police station questioned eight individuals, including Task Force personnel and station staff. Statements were recorded from several officials, including Task Force ADCP Latha Kumari. Investigators sought clarity on when Sai Krishna was brought from Markapur, who was assigned to bring him, and to whom he was handed over after reaching Vijayawada.

Sources indicated that the personnel were sent to execute pending Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs). The team also questioned four individuals who brought Sai Krishna and recorded their statements.

Meanwhile, Sai Krishna’s mother, Gade Vijaya Lakshmi, has alleged that she was threatened by a police officer when she visited the Krishnalanka police station. In a complaint submitted to the Police Commissioner, she claimed that Circle Inspector Nagaraju verbally abused her and threatened her life.

She stated that her son, who was earlier arrested in a murder case and later released on bail, had been staying in hiding at Markapur fearing police action. According to her, police brought him to Vijayawada in the first week of May to execute pending warrants.

Vijaya Lakshmi further alleged that when she visited the police station, she heard her son’s cries from the upper floor and later found him in the lockup. Despite repeated requests, she claimed she was not allowed to meet him.

The complaint has been submitted to the Commissioner, and further action is awaited as the investigation continues.
