Prakasam Collector Calls For Mass Participation in Yoga Campaign
He instructed officials to organise daily yoga sessions from the district headquarters to the village level

Nellore: Prakasam district collector P. Rajababu has directed officials to promote yoga across the district and encourage participation from all sections of society ahead of International Yoga Day.
Chairing a review meeting at Prakasam Bhavan on Saturday, the collector reviewed preparations for a 15-day yoga campaign scheduled to be conducted from June 7 to June 21. He instructed officials to organise daily yoga sessions from the district headquarters to the village level.
Rajababu said awareness programmes should be conducted extensively to encourage people to adopt yoga as part of their daily routine.
As part of the campaign, special yoga sessions will be organised at locations including Kothapatnam Beach and the Gundlakamma Project to attract wider public participation.
A district-level core committee headed by the collector has been constituted to oversee the campaign. Ayush medical officer Dr Bheemanad has been appointed as the nodal officer.
The collector emphasised that yoga promotion should continue beyond the 15-day programme and directed officials to utilise health centres and village secretariat premises as regular venues for yoga practice.
Officials from the panchayat raj, rural development, health, sports and municipal administration departments attended the meeting.
