Krishna district’s Avanigadda police arrested two temple robbers using advanced technological methods

Vijayawada:Krishna district’s Avanigadda police arrested two temple robbers using advanced technological methods. Police recovered from them stolen silver and gold ornaments worth approximately ₹16 lakh.
The arrest of the duo came after a series of temple robberies in the Krishna district, with the most recent occurring on the night of February 2, 2025 at the Sri Alivelu Manga Rajyalakshmi Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Puligadda village.
District superintendent of police (SP) R. Gangadhar Rao revealed that the police used modern investigative techniques, including tower analysis and CCTV surveillance, to identify and apprehend the suspects.
The two accused have been identified as Peetha Brahmanandam (54) from Pedaprolu village in Mopidevi mandal and Sheikh Hamid (66) from RTC Colony in Kothapeta of Guntur
Stolen items recovered from them include 16.90 kg of silver ornaments, gold mangalsutra, a car and a silver melting machine The recoveries relate to four different temple theft cases in the Avanigadda sub-division.
SP Gangadhar Rao advised citizens to install CCTV cameras to check such criminal activities.
