Police Search for Missing TD Leader Manikanta

Kakinada:Police in Nidadavole are searching for Katta Manikanta after he posted a message on social media that he would die due to police harassment.

According to police, Jana Sena workers lodged a complaint that Manikanta posted some comments against tourism minister Kandula Durgesh and local leaders on social media, claiming that gambling and land grabbing had increased in the constituency.

Police issued a notice under Section 41A and called him to the station twice.

Police said Manikanta later released a selfie video, stating he would commit suicide as he could not bear the “police harassment.”

Kovvuru DSP Deva Kumar said Manikanta had not been detained and search teams were deployed to trace him.
