Visakhapatnam: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Thursday launched a strong attack on alleged fake pastor and actor Abhinay Darshan, stating that police investigations had revealed that he was not a genuine pastor as he claimed to be.
Addressing the controversy surrounding Abhinay Darshan, Anitha alleged that he had fabricated his identity, entered into multiple marriages and collected money under the guise of carrying out religious activities.
Questioning his presence in the Agency areas of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, the minister asked why a person from Kadapa district had travelled there to conduct evangelical activities and suggested that there could be a larger conspiracy behind the issue.
Anitha further alleged that Abhinay Darshan had used his acting skills to stage an incident and mislead tribal communities into believing that he had been attacked, even though no such attack had actually taken place.
The minister said financial transactions carried out under the name of “Pastor” were currently under investigation and added that more details would be disclosed soon. She said several criminal cases were already pending against Abhinay Darshan and accused him of attempting to incite communal tensions. Anitha warned that the government would not tolerate such “drama and theatrics” aimed at disturbing communal harmony.
