Police issue notice to MLC Duvvada Srinivas

Visakhapatnam: Tekkali police in Srikakulam district on Saturday served notice under Section 41 on YSRC MLC Duvvada Srinivas following a complaint lodged by Jana Sena leader T. Kiran Kumar, who alleged that the MLC made derogatory comments against Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan in the past.
“We served the notice on MLC Duvvada Srinivas on Saturday and asked him to give a statement in the police station,’’ said inspector of Tekkali police station Vijay Kumar.
The complaint was filed on November 19. The state government has taken a serious view of the social media comments made by leaders against the ruling party members.
Actress Sri Reddy and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma are also facing legal action for making allegedly defamatory remarks against political leaders.
