Police Issue Curbs On Mobilisation During Jagan’s Nellore Visit
According to the notice, issued under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, only ten persons will be permitted at the helipad due to the VIP's Z Plus security status.

Tirupati: The Nellore district police have issued a preventive notice imposing restrictions on the visit of former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, scheduled for Thursday. His visit includes a meeting with former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy at the Central Prison in Chemudugunta, followed by a visit to the residence of Kovur former MLA N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy at Sujathamma Colony in Nellore city.
Permission for the visit was granted by the additional superintendent of police, Nellore, but under stringent conditions.
According to the notice, issued under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, only ten persons will be permitted at the helipad due to the VIP's Z Plus security status. The jail premises and surrounding areas have been declared restricted zones, and public gatherings or crowd mobilisation at these locations are prohibited. Interaction with Kakani inside the prison will be limited to the number authorised by prison officials.
The police also banned processions during the movement of the VIP and stated that no unauthorised vehicles would be allowed to join the convoy. Due to the location of Prasanna Kumar’s residence in a narrow residential lane, public mobilisation in the area will not be permitted. The notice further warned that banners, statements, or displays that could offend any political group, caste or community would not be allowed.
The preventive notice was served to MLC P. Chandrasekhar Reddy, who is also the working president of the YSRC’s Nellore district and city unit.
Citing past incidents at Rapthadu, Podili, Rentapalla, and Bangarupalem, police flagged crowd control failures that resulted in stampedes, injuries, traffic disruptions, and damage to the VIP’s helicopter. Though organisers assured police that no public events would be held during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit, officials reiterated that any violations or attempts to mobilise crowds would attract legal action.
