Polavaram Works Going on at Brisk Manner: Nimmala Rama Naidu
Rama Naidu said the Polavaram Project works would not be stopped even in the rainy season

Vijayawada: Minister of water resources Nimmala Rama Naidu said the 202 metres length of diaphragm wall out of 1.4 km has been completed as they have speeded up Polavaram irrigation project works.
Speaking to the media in Rajamahendravaram on Monday, the minister said Rs 990 crore would be spent on constructing the new D-wall following damage to the old one. The new D-wall works began on January 18.
He sounded confident of continuing D-wall works even during the rainy season as they are taking up buttress dam to strengthen the upper cofferdam to avoid seepage of water into the construction area.
He said the works on D-wall are being taken up in such a manner to complete its constructed by end of 2025 and added that they would also take up works on ECRF dam gap-1 in April and also on ECRF dam gap-2 by November 30 to complete construction of the entire Polavaram dam by the end of 2027.
