Plan to Strengthen Bilateral Trade Between AP and Ecuador

Vijayawada:Joint secretary to the external affairs ministry and Ambassador-designate to Ecuador, Anita Shukla interacted with the industry representatives to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties between AP and Ecuador.
She visited the office of AP chambers of commerce and industry federation here on Monday.
Shukls noted that AP was emerging as one of the most-happening states with strong industrial growth, rapid infrastructure development and investor-friendly governance. For the first time, India had appointed a resident full-fledged ambassador to Ecuador, reflecting the growing importance being attached to strengthening bilateral relations and economic engagement with Latin American countries.
She noted that India and Ecuador were aiming at signing a Preferential Trade Agreement soon to open up significant trade opportunities for businesses from both sides.
Meanwhile, AP’s export potential in sectors like agri and food processing products, rice, yarn, pharmaceuticals, IT services, renewable energy, machinery manufacturing and allied industries would be explored.
It was decided to organise a virtual buyer-seller meeting to facilitate direct business interactions between companies from AP and Ecuador.
Moreover, AP chambers requested the ambassador-designate to promote AP as a preferential destination for inbound tourism from Ecuador and the larger Latin American region.
Industrialists from pharma, spices, aqua, manufacturing, textiles, logistics, metals and from other sectors were present.
