PKL 2025 To Open In Vizag With Telugu Titans And Tamil Thalaivas Clashing On Aug. 29
The Indian Pro Kabaddi League matches are scheduled from August 29 to October 23.
VISAKHAPATNAM: The Pro Kabaddi League 2025 will start in Visakhapatnam with Telugu Titans clashing with the Tamil Thalaivas on Friday, August 29, at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
The Indian Pro Kabaddi League matches are scheduled from August 29 to October 23. In Visakhapatnam, the matches will be played on August 29, August 30, September 4, September 7 and September 10.
Post their first match with Tamil Thalaivas on August 29, Telugu Titans will face UP Yodhas on August 30, Jaipur Pink Panthers on September 4, Bengal Warriors on September 7 and U. Mumba on September 10.
Telugu Titans announced their squad for the upcoming 12 season of the PKL at a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
Telugu Titans CEO Trinadh Reddy said Vijay Malik will be the captain of the team while Shubham Shinde the vice-captain.
Raiders of the team are Chetan Sahu, Nitin, Rohit, Praful Sudam Zaware, Jai Bhagwan, Manjeet, and Ashish Narwal. Defenders comprise Ajit Pandurang Pawar, Sagar, Ankit, Avi Duhan, Bantu, Shubham Shinde, Aman, Amir Hossein Ejlali and Rahul Dagar.
The all-rounders in the team are Shankar Bhimraj Gadai, Vijay Malik, Bharat and Ganesh Parki.
Team captain Vijay Malik emphasised on the team chemistry. He said he wants to build strong bonds within the team and ensure that they feel safe. “Players need to feel secure, only then can they give 100 per cent. We have a mix of experience and will be able to handle the pressure," Malik stated.
Head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda expressed confidence with the way the team has prepared. "Kabaddi is one of the most thrilling events in sports. Telugu Titans’ team has never been stronger than it is in Season 12,” Krishan underlined.
Following the established PKL format, Telugu Titans will compete in 18 league stage matches alongside the other 11 teams, with the top six teams advancing to the playoffs. The playoff schedule will be announced at a later date.
