Kurnool: Appointment of a candidate as a teacher despite not clearing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has come under scrutiny in Kurnool district.
Following an inquiry, Kurnool district education officer (DEO) L. Sudhakar disclosed that Prabhakar Goud, a native of Valluru village in Kowthalam mandal of Kurnool district, had secured the job as teacher under the sports’ quota.
However, Goud had not cleared the TET examination. “We have examined his certificates and sent a report to the state government,” the DEO told Deccan Chronicle. The issue has assumed significance in the wake of criticism over implementation of sports quota in the recent District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process.
