The legislator laid a foundation stone for construction of the pump house and pipeline in the area on Thursday

Kakinada: Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Srinivas said that a permanent solution has been found for the decades-long inundation problem in Kotilingalapeta in Rajamahendravaram. As part of it, a pipeline and a pump house will be installed in the area to pump out the stagnation waters on a regular basis.
In this regard, the legislator laid a foundation stone for construction of the pump house and pipeline in the area on Thursday. He said that both the works will cost ₹1.25 crore. They will be completed by May 30, much ahead of the start of the rainy season.
Adireddy Srinivas said when Kotilingalapeta got flooded during rains under the previous government, he visited the area and promised residents that he will find a permanent solution to the inundation problem. This promise has been fulfilled, he stated.
The MLA disclosed that AP Paper Mills has provided the financial assistance and the engineering wing of the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation will supervise and ensure the quality of works. He explained that as soon as there is rain, the pump will be put on and the pipeline will pull out the rainwater from the area.
TD state secretary K. Naveen Kumar and AP Paper Mills executive director Mukesh Jain were among those present.
