Pawan Thanks CM Naidu for Fisherfolk's Aid
Pawan Kalyan announced that the government is considering providing alternative sources of employment to fishermen who migrate in search of work during the ban period, in addition to the financial relief

Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced that the NDA government has fulfilled its poll promise by increasing financial relief for fishermen during the fishing ban period. The amount has been raised to Rs.20,000 from the previous Rs.10,000, benefiting 1.29 lakh families and amounting to a total of Rs.259 crore.
Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Deputy CM noted that the decision ensures fishermen, who rely on fishing as their primary source of livelihood, are protected during the two-month ban period. In a separate development, the Deputy CM instructed the principal chief conservator of forests to establish a special task force using state-of-the-art technology to track elephant movements. The team will include elephant trackers to prevent pachyderms from harming villagers or destroying crops. Accordingly, a task force led by DFO Tirupati, P. Vivek, has been formed, and a flying squad consisting of DFOs from Tirupati, Chittoor, Pileru and forest range officers has been deployed to monitor elephant movements.
Pawan Kalyan expressed his concern over the recent death of a tenant farmer in an elephant attack at Chinnagottigallu in Tirupati district, as well as the destruction of crops by a herd of elephants in Ganugapenta, Padala mandal. He held a teleconference with concerned forest officials, taking stock of the situation and instructing them to implement measures to address the issue.
