Pawan Sanctions Road on the Spot After Constable’s Appeal
Deputy CM approves Rs 2-crore road after constable’s appeal during appointment event

Vijayawada: In a display of swift governance, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan approved a long-pending road to Tenumulabanda, a remote tribal hamlet in Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district, within minutes of the demand being reiterated by a constable when the Deputy CM had been distributing letters of appointment in the police department on Tuesday.
Pawan Kalyan’s swift response drew loud applause from the gathering.
Newly selected constable Lake Babu Rao, a tribal youth from ASR district, narrated his success story. While thanking the government for his selection, Babu Rao made an emotional appeal, seeking a proper road to his native village, Tenumulabanda, which still lacks basic connectivity.
Responding immediately, the Deputy CM issued on-the-spot instructions to officials to prepare estimates and grant approval to the road project.
Following his directions, officials moved at a rapid pace and prepared estimates for the construction of a 2-kilometre BT road from Tenumulabanda to Eluguratibanda, under the Devarapalli panchayat of G.K. Veedhi mandal in ASR district. The project has been estimated to cost ₹2 crore.
Addressing the gathering after approving the road, Pawan Kalyan said recruitment of police constables is a clear example of the commitment made by the coalition government.
Revealing that his father worked in the police department, the Deputy Chief Minister advised the newly appointed constables to uphold the dignity and honour of the khaki uniform. He said the present government accords the highest priority to the safety and security of women.
