Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena president K. Pawan Kalyan told his party MLAs that there should be no compromise in delivering development and welfare benefits to people, who have reposed their trust in the ruling JS-BJP-TD coalition government.
He told each of his party’s elected MLAs to work towards ensuring comprehensive development in their constituencies, which satisfies the public.
The JS leader has begun one-on-one review meetings with Jana Sena MLAs to review their constituency’s development, implementation of the state government’s welfare schemes and holding of party activities.
The first of these meetings took place on Saturday at the Deputy CM’s office in Mangalagiri with Polavaram MLA Chirri Balaraju. Pawan Kalyan reviewed progress of works taken up in the Polavaram constituency over the past one-and-a-half years, utilisation of Panchayat Raj funds, implementation and progress of NREGS works, execution of government schemes, agriculture-related issues, and employment opportunities for youth.
Recalling his recent visit to I.S. Jagannathapuram, the Deputy Chief Minister recalled the incident of a woman from Koyyalagudem mandal, carrying her infant, appealing for road connectivity to her village. Responding immediately, he said, he facilitated sanction of Rs 7.60 crore for construction of two roads between Thimmanakunta and Gavaravaram, solving a problem that had persisted for nearly two decades.
The JS chief asked his MLAs to proactively identify such grassroots issues and resolve them. He maintained that people are concerned not only about their own welfare but also about regional development.
Pawan asked his party leaders to remain accessible to farmers, women and youth in Polavaram and swiftly resolve their issues to enhance public satisfaction.
At the same time, the Deputy CM called upon party leaders to uphold the coalition dharma, accelerate Jana Sena activities at the grassroots, and stand firmly with party cadres, taking into account their aspirations.
Allotment of nominated posts to Jana Sena leaders in Polavaram constituency also came up for discussion.
MLA Balaraju submitted proposals seeking a government degree college at Koyyalagudem, development of a Community Health Centre, establishment of a fire station, enhanced NREGS funds for T. Narasapuram, Buttayigudem and Jeelugumilli mandals, and construction of CC roads in the constituency.
Jana Sena West Godavari district president Kotikalapudi Govinda Rao attended the review meeting.
