Pawan Calls for Transparent Village Survey

Pawan Kalyan stressed expansion of “magic drains” to tackle sewage problems, particularly in tribal and delta regions. He also warned officials against compromising on road quality.

Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister and panchayat raj and rural development minister K. Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to conduct a transparent field-level survey to identify infrastructure needs in villages and strengthen rural economies across Andhra Pradesh.

Reviewing the progress of Palle Panduga phases 1 and 2 with senior officials on Tuesday, he said the survey would document existing amenities, panchayat lands, poramboke lands, grazing fields and burial grounds to ensure protection of village assets and creation of new revenue sources.

The Deputy Chief Minister said major infrastructure targets under Palle Panduga had been exceeded. While 4,000 km of roads were completed in the first phase, 3,580 km were laid against the second-phase target of 2,750 km.

He said more than 37,000 gokulams, 15,188 cattle water troughs and 1.07 lakh farm ponds had also been completed.
