Papikondalu Boat Services Halted, Safety Checks Intensified
RDO Swathi inspects baots, directs strict fitness compliance before resumption

Authorities have intensified safety inspections of tourism boats to ensure passenger safety. Boat services to the popular tourist destination have been temporarily suspended from Monday due to safety concerns at Papikondalu.
Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Swathi conducted inspections of boats stationed near the Gandipochamma temple in Devipatnam mandal after some boats reported technical issues. She also inquired about a boat that had halted midway in the waters due to a technical glitch.
The officer reviewed facilities at the boating point and held a meeting with stakeholders, including boat owners and tourism officials. She directed that operations should resume only after completing mandatory fitness checks, emphasizing that every boat must possess a valid fitness certificate before carrying tourists.
