Pankaj Kumar Meena Takes Charge as Markapuram’s First SP
With the district having several ghat roads, national highways and state highways, special focus would be placed on identifying accident-prone stretches and preventing road accidents.
Markapuram: Pankaj Kumar Meena, IPS, on Thursday assumed charge as the first superintendent of police of the newly formed Markapuram district, with law and order, crime prevention, road safety and women’s safety among his priorities.
After taking charge at the district police office, Meena said he would strictly enforce the law and take action against violators.
He said land-related disputes were a major concern in the district and that he would coordinate with revenue officials to help resolve them.
With the district having several ghat roads, national highways and state highways, special focus would be placed on identifying accident-prone stretches and preventing road accidents, he said.
The SP said he would remain accessible to people and work towards providing better policing services.
Later, he reviewed the law-and-order situation with DSPs, inspectors and sub-inspectors from the Markapur and Kanigiri subdivisions.
Markapuram OSD Navjyoti Mishra, DSP U. Nagaraju and other police officers congratulated Meena on assuming charge.
