Palla Slams Jagan Warning Over PPP Model
Palla termed the ex-CM’s comments a direct assault on constitutional governance and democratic values:Reports

VISAKHAPATNAM: Telugu Desam state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Friday strongly criticised former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for the latter’s reported remarks threatening to arrest those supporting the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Palla termed the ex-CM’s comments a direct assault on constitutional governance and democratic values.
The TD state president said India is governed by the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and not by any individual’s whims or a “private constitution.” He underlined that intimidating citizens for endorsing a globally accepted development model reflects an authoritarian mindset.
Palla explained that PPP is recognised worldwide as a driver for infrastructure growth. He maintained that such rhetoric of Jagan Mohan Reddy could scare away investors when AP urgently needs private capital.
He recalled that industries had exited AP during the YSRC regime due to policy uncertainty and hostility toward enterprises.
The TD state president maintained that PPP does not amount to privatisation. Medical colleges under PPP will remain public institutions, with admissions, fees, and standards regulated by the state government. Seventy per cent of beds will be reserved for NTR Vaidya Seva and Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries.
Palla asserted that PPP enjoys support of the central government, NITI Aayog and judicial bodies. He felt the PPP model is inevitable for expanding medical education in Andhra Pradesh.
