Palla Pitches IT Hubs in Yarada, Aganampudi

Palla directed officials to compile comprehensive records of beneficiaries still awaiting rehabilitation.

Visakhapatnam: Telugu Desam state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao has called for an IT-led transformation of Gajuwaka while pressing for a time-bound resolution of displacement issues in Visakhapatnam. Chairing a review meeting at the Collectorate with senior district officials, he highlighted the need for an integrated development roadmap balancing industrial expansion with social justice.

Palla proposed converting nearly 600 acres of government and refractories land in Yarada and Aganampudi into IT and knowledge-based industrial zones, arguing that such initiatives could generate substantial employment opportunities for local youth. He urged officials to conduct feasibility studies and prepare a long-term framework for technology-driven growth.

The meeting also reviewed unresolved rehabilitation concerns linked to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, including pending house-site allotments, employment claims and boundary disputes. Palla directed officials to compile comprehensive records of beneficiaries still awaiting rehabilitation.

Concerns over displacement at Gangavaram Port, pending compensation and subsistence allowances were revisited, with the MLA demanding swift administrative action. Issues related to Pharma City colonies, VMRDA projects and GVMC civic deficiencies, including drinking water shortages, poor roads and sanitation gaps, were also discussed.

Reiterating his priorities, Palla stressed that Gajuwaka’s development, youth employment and justice for displaced families would remain central to his agenda.
