PAAP demands probe into NEET results
KURNOOL: The Parents' Association of Andhra Pradesh (PAAP) has raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the recently-conducted National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission into medical colleges and demanded a comprehensive probe into the reported leakage of the NEET examination papers and irregularities in the marking process.
The demand comes in the wake of an unprecedented situation where 67 students securing first rank, including 8 students from a single centre in the state. “Such a high concentration of top ranks from one examination centre is highly unusual and has raised suspicions of potential malpractices,” the association said.
PAAP state president M. Narahari and state general secretary G. Eswaraiah appealed to the state government to urge the central government to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.
They emphasized the need to ensure the well-being of the students of the state, who had faced challenges due to the loss of around 284 medical college seats after bifurcation of the state.
