Own Home for Naidu in Kuppam

CM, family hold housewarming ceremony with rituals and homams

Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu officially entered his new residence in Sivapuram village of Santhipuram mandal in the Kuppam assembly constituency on Sunday.

This marks a significant personal and political milestone in his decades-long association with the region.

The ceremony was attended by Naidu, his wife Bhuvaneswari, son and minister Nara Lokesh and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani. The family conducted Vedic rituals and homams under the guidance of Hindu priests. As part of their customs, they also performed special prayers to a Punganur breed cow and calf.

The event attracted large crowds of Telugu Desam leaders, cadres and well-wishers from across the constituency. Naidu and his family interacted with the attendees, exchanging pleasantries and inquiring about their welfare.

Beyond the festivities, the CM also took time to engage with citizens on administrative issues. He received grievance petitions and instructed district officials to act swiftly on these. A grand feast featuring special dishes was served to thousands of visitors for breakfast and lunch.

In a message, Nara Lokesh expressed gratitude to the Kuppam public, saying, “Today we performed our housewarming ceremony in the presence of the people of Kuppam, who have stood in strong support of our family for the last 36 years. We thank them for their invaluable love and affection.”

There was palpable joy among residents and TD workers, many of whom described the event as a homecoming for their eight-time MLA and now the chief minister. Despite winning every election in Kuppam since 1989, Naidu had until now not constructed a permanent residence in the constituency, often relying on the roads & buildings guesthouse during his visits.

The absence of a permanent home for Naidu in Kuppam had frequently been used by political opponents to question his commitment to the constituency.

The decision to construct a personal and official residence came during the term of the YSRC rule, when Naidu faced administrative obstacles during his visits and stays in Kuppam. The construction began three years ago on a one-acre plot near the Kuppam-Palamaner highway, close to Kadapalle panchayat.

Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasad Rao, MLC Srikanth, collector Sumit Kumar, joint collector Vidyadhari, Anantapur range DIG Shemushi and Chittoor SP Manikanta Chandolu and several MLAs from the former Chittoor district were present.
