One Killed, Six Escape In Ghat Road Accident

Visakhapatnam: One person was killed, while six others, including two children, had a narrow escape in a road accident on Padmanabham Ghat Road in Visakhapatnam district on Sunday. The accident occurred within the Bheemli police station limits.
The family was returning after visiting the Padmanabham temple when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road and crashed into trees about 20 metres away.
Padmanabham CI Sridhar said the deceased was identified as Ganti V.V.S. Prasad. He sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Bheemli government hospital for post-mortem.
The CI said the accident occurred at the last turn of the ghat road when the driver lost control of the car. All those travelling in the vehicle belonged to the same family. Police rescued the occupants, and the others suffered only minor injuries.
