One Dead as Heavy Rains Lash Anantapur, Satya Sai Districts

Anantapur: Heavy rains have been lashing Anantapur and Satya Sai districts for the past two days.
Heavy rains with gusty winds have been reported in Uravakonda, Vidapanakal and Vajrakarur mandals of Anantapur district on Sunday. Roads have submerged due to overflowing of channels at Budagavi, Vidapanakal-R Kottala and Uravakonda-Undabanda areas, disrupting traffic.
A sheep breeder died when thunder struck him in Kadapa district on Saturday.
Several colonies in Rapthadu mandal of Anantapur district have been inundated, with water entering residences in CPI Colony and Silpa Nagar areas.
Passengers of an APSRTC bus protested at the Anantapur depot saying water leading into the bus had damaged their valuable goods while coming from Tirupati to Anantapur.
