One Dead, 2 Hurt As Lorry Rams Into Stationary Bus On NH-16

NELLORE: In a road accident that took place on National Highway-16 in the early hours of Sunday, a man lost his life while his son and another person were severely injured after a speeding lorry rammed into a private bus they were travelling in, at North Rajupalem village in Kodavalur mandal.
The deceased was identified as S. Babu Rao, a YSRC leader from Vijayawada and the injured were as his son Kiran Kumar, 30, and the bus cleaner Shyamu, 45. Babu Rao was travelling along with his son in the bus to Nagapattinam from Vijayawada. The bus had stopped on the roadside to allow passengers to relieve themselves, when a lorry crashed into it at high speed, according to Kodavalur sub-inspector Ch. Koti Reddy.
Kiran Kumar and the bus cleaner, Shyamu, 45, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to hospital. Their condition was said to be critical.
MLC P. Chandrasekhar Reddy of YSRC visited the hospital and enquired about their health condition and urged the hospital authorities to provide the best treatment for them. Police were investigating.
