Officials Urged to Meet Sustainable Development Goals

Planning dept urged to focus on data transparency and local-level implementation

Vijayawada: Chairman of the Twenty Points Programme Implementation, Lanka Dinakar has said that the state planning department should work towards the Sustainable Development Goals as suggested by NITI Aayog, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Sankalpa Vikasit Bharat and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's objective of Swarnandhra. He conducted a review meeting with the state planning department officials in the Secretariat at Velagapudi in Amaravati on Friday.

Dinakar stated that the officials should pay special attention to necessary information linkage on websites and dashboards for meaningful information. He directed the officials to work in line with the ideas of the Chief Minister and produce results for the progress of the state.

Joint secretary, state planning department, Ananth Shankar, said that the district and mandal level Swarnandhra vision documents have been completed and the Assembly constituency vision is being prepared. He further said that along with this, the vision and implementation plans for each sector (agriculture and allied, industries and infrastructure, service sector) will be completed.

Andhra Pradesh State Development Planning Society (APSDPS) ED Alaparthi Venkateswara Rao explained that 30 lakh households with poverty in the bottom 20% of the population in the state have been identified under P4 in the survey, 58,000 Bangaru Kutumbalu (golden families) and 53,000 Margadarshis (mentors) have been so far identified in AP. He added that one young professional will be appointed for each Assembly constituency through examination and interview to implement P4 effectively on ground.

Directors of state planning department Rambabu, Vijayalakshmi and other senior officials were present in the review meeting.
