Officials In Nellore Told To Stay Alert Amid Heavy Rain Warning

Nellore:Joint collector K. Karthik has directed all departmental officials in the district to remain on high alert to ensure that people face no difficulties in view of the heavy rain warning issued by the Amaravati Meteorological Centre.
Speaking at a Disaster Management Committee meeting held at the S.R. Sankaran Conference Hall in the collectorate on Thursday evening, Karthik said moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms are likely in the state.

The fisheries department was asked to caution fishermen against venturing into the sea, while electricity department officials were told to inspect power lines and poles and carry out immediate repairs where necessary.
Measures should be taken to ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply in villages, and health officials were directed to keep sufficient stocks of medicines to prevent outbreaks of seasonal diseases. Police and revenue officials were also told to be vigilant.
