Nuda Preparing 20-Year Master Plan Covering 2,200 Sq km: Chairman Kotamreddy
Stakeholder inputs to shape future growth, infrastructure and urban expansion across 23 mandals.
Nellore: The Nellore Urban Development Authority (Nuda) is preparing a master plan with a 20-year vision to guide planned development across its jurisdiction, Nuda chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy said on Tuesday.
Addressing a stakeholder consultation meeting conducted by RV Associates, the Nuda chairman said the proposed master plan would cover nearly 2,200 sq km under the authority's limits.
He said the first phase of consultations was being held for three of the 23 mandals falling under Nuda's jurisdiction. Nuda vice-chairman M. Venkateswarlu participated in the meeting through video conference.
Officials informed the meeting that detailed mapping had been undertaken covering road networks, environmentally sensitive and protected areas, water bodies, residential zones, commercial centres and business districts.
Srinivasulu Reddy said the final master plan would be prepared after incorporating suggestions from local MLAs and other stakeholders.
He said the plan was being designed to address future population growth, infrastructure requirements and urban expansion over the next two decades.
The Nuda chairman directed local officials to bring major development projects within the master plan area to the notice of Nuda for inclusion in the planning process.
Special focus is being given to Nellore Rural, Buchireddypalem and Kavali mandals as part of the exercise, he added.
