NTR Vaidya Seva Usage Up 60% Under NDA Govt: Minister

VIJAYAWADA: Minister for health Satya Kumar Yadav on Saturday said utilisation of the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme had increased by 60 per cent compared to the previous YSRC government.
The minister held a virtual review meeting with senior health officials on the implementation of NTR Vaidya Seva and the 108 and 104 emergency services. He said that during 2022–23 and 2023–24, under the previous regime, 23,08,930 patients availed treatment under the Arogyasri scheme, which offered 3,257 procedures free of cost.
In contrast, he said that during the 19-month tenure of the NDA government till the end of December 2025, about 24,49,117 patients availed services under NTR Vaidya Seva. The monthly average stood at 1,16,624 patients, compared to 96,205 patients during the previous regime.
On expenditure, the minister said average monthly spending had risen from ₹193 crore earlier to ₹310 crore, marking a 60 per cent increase. While the previous government spent ₹11,577 crore on the scheme, the present government spent ₹6,530 crore in 19 months.
Reviewing 108 and 104 services, the minister said the agency operating the 108-ambulance service had performed efficiently in shifting patients to hospitals across urban, rural and agency areas. He also announced plans to soon introduce 41 medical tests through the 104-ambulance service.
